Ranger Cabin Project A Success

The Ranger Cabin Project was a success. With Tamlin’s planning, design and knowledge of remote building, this job was no different.

“The jobs we get in these remote locations are only making us stronger and I am confident we are a step ahead of our competition … ” says Paul Tabuchi.

Tamlin was awarded the ranger cabin project on Vancouver Island close to Port McNeill in the Cape Scott Provincial Park. This project was tricky as all the lifts had to be in 750-900 lb manageable sizes for the helicopter access site. This cabin is right on the ocean where there are severe storms throughout the year. The cabin will only be occupied 3-4 months out of the year by park rangers and the public. The cabin was built on a concrete pier system that is designed for sandy ground conditions and is perfect for remote builds. Tamlin is remote build specialists that can find a solution for most remote builds. The Cape Scott Ranger cabin is complete now and it turned out amazing! Cold Lake Alberta Cedar Log Home Update

Progress is great on this amazing cedar log home. The log home sits majestically in the middle of a large piece of property in Cold Lake Alberta. The roof is on now and the homeowners will have the exterior stained a rich beautiful red color, which will accent the natural cedar color. Tamlin supplied the log home and assisted with arrangements for a construction crew to build the home. This building crew has helped Tamlin on many projects in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario, and we are never disappointed with their skills, dedication and efficiency. If you are thinking about building, but are concerned with having a home package shipped from BC, worry no more! We are happy to put you in contact with one of our crews when you buy a package from us.

Thetis Island Renovation Update!

Progress is great on this major renovation and the homeowners are very pleased with how smoothly everything is going. We couldn’t have asked or better weather for this project either! Now that the weather has turned in to fall rain and wind, the interior finishing is getting under way. Did you know that Tamlin can per-manufacture tons of components in a home so that in the winter months, getting the home to weather tight lock up stage is fast and saves time on on-site labor costs? We were fortunate that this project happened in the summertime, so there was not a rush to beat the bad weather. If you are thinking about building or renovating, give us a call. We would love to give you information on our process and tell you how we can keep your project on time and on budget.

Thetis Island Renovation

Tamlin has built on Thetis before and is very familiar with remote island access and the logistics of such builds. We also have an amazing transportation company that we use for all of our remote builds. He has a truck that fits onto most of the ferries and their height and length restrictions. The homeowners wanted to maintain the waterfront look of this unique cabin and incorporate the original front framed portion to fit into the redesign. The homeowners had outgrown the quaint cabin and wanted a new and larger living space. This new layout has timber frame components and is much larger and open then it was before. The renovation went smoothly, on time and on budget.

Cold Lake Cedar Log Home Project Update!

In only two weeks our supervision crew and two local carpenters have completed all of the precut milled log installation and continued on to the loft floor and roof framing stages. The western red cedar milled logs look and smell spectacular! The owners are extremely happy with the Tamlin crew and the progress that has been made! Log homes are one of the easiest homes to build. If you are thinking about a log home, give Tamlin a call. We would be happy to provide more information on the process and just how easy it is to have your own log home!
